Multi-Family Property Accountant

The Multifamily Property Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our multifamily real estate portfolio. Working closely with property managers, directors, owners, and other stakeholders, you will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, track expenses, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable for multiple properties. Ensure timely payments to vendors and accurate recording of income. Distribute ownership payments.

General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts for each property, including recording journal entries, reconciling bank accounts, and reviewing account balances.

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multifamily properties, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements as needed.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and monitoring of property budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances and areas for improvement.

Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and performance reviews for multifamily properties, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.

Vendor Management: Manage vendor accounts and compliance.

Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.

Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and addressing auditor inquiries.

Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with property managers, asset managers, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights, address questions or concerns, and support strategic decision-making.
